We wouldn't normally add one of these as a favourite but the one in Cape Town is excellent.

One of the real features is the price, really reasonable for an all day bus. It also runs fairly frequently, four an hour at peak times. It also goes more or less everywhere you need. The core part of the service is the red route. Here's a focus on that route.

It starts at the V & A Waterfront, close to the aquarium. The low number stops weave in and amongst a range of places of interest. Stop 5 is ten minutes walk from the Castle of Good Hope and Stop 6 is ten minutes walk from Bo-Kaap. One of its key stops is stop 7 - the start of the Table Mountain cable car. Using the hop on bus is certainly easier than trying to park there on a busy day. The home leg of stops 8 to 10 give great views of the beaches of Camps Bay and the ocean beyond. You can hop onto the blue route at a few points and it's got a handy stop at Kirstenbosch Gardens if you need it.
