This market is in Sedgefield on the Garden Route and it's so worth visiting that we reorganised a whole trip to make sure we were travelling from George to Plettenberg Bay on a Saturday!

The market first appeared in 1999 and has evolved and grown into something incredible. There is a huge array of local produce of every style, both the fresh ingredients for you to go away and create something or add to that night's braai, or a whole range of made produce such as preserves, drinks and more.

In addition you will find a host of places to eat, often on the same stall as the produce, and it's no wonder the market is always bustling. Diners and shoppers weave their way through the crowds as buskers ply their trade nearby. The market is every Saturday, 0730 to 1200 (0800 start in the winter) and is easily found next to the N2. Heading east it's just after you cross the Sedgefield Lagoon, and heading west it's just after Sedgefield itself. Right next door you will also find the Scarab Arts and Crafts village so it's easy to fill the morning before heading to wherever next to devour your fresh berries and prep something for the braai.
