Franschhoek Country House & Villas

Just on the edge of the town proper, this is a very pleasant collection of villas.

To give a better sense of the location it's a five minute drive to the south-eastern end of the town and it can be walked in about thirty minutes, all on the flat. There is also a complimentary shuttle provided - just say when you are ready to head into town and then give them a call to come back. The villas are neatly clustered and then separated by some nicely planted areas. Then there is a more open grassed area with two pools available. They are more dip size than for serious swimming but one of them is gloriously heated.

The room we had was superbly appointed and very comfortable. Everything was there that was needed, and the breakfast was a great quality buffet style with some cooked options.

On site there is a restaurant that has some bistro style dishes. We wanted something a bit lighter and were delighted to find they could offer us the bar/pool menu in the main restaurant.

It's a very relaxed place and a great way to end a road trip, with Cape Town under an hour away.
